During a recent trip to New Orleans we rode through the lower 9th Ward which was washed out during flooding caused by hurricane Katrina in 2005. There are many empty lots, a few abandoned houses that sustained damage but are still standing, and also a surge of new single family house development on the lots. The following are photos showing an area where some new development was happening.
