Along the Millpond trail

Wake County's Historic Yates Mill County Park in Raleigh is a good spot for a weekend visit. They provide tours of the working gristmill and there are around 3 miles of walking trails that traverse the property and circle the pond and low-lying areas. We saw turtles, beavers dams upstream from the pond, ducks, and tons of vegetation. There were also a few people fishing off the bridge over the pond.
